Hadith (ΨΨ―ΩΨ«) are the recorded sayings, actions, approvals, and descriptions of the Prophet Muhammad ο·Ί.
1. Isnad (Ψ₯Ψ³ΩΨ§Ψ―) β the chain of narrators
2. Matn (Ω ΨͺΩ) β the actual text/content
Example:
> "Umar ibn al-Khattab said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ο·Ί say: Actions are judged by intentions..."
Here, Umar β Prophet ο·Ί is the isnad. The words "Actions are judged by intentions" is the matn.
