The Prophet ﷺ was asked about fasting on Monday and replied: 'On that day I was born, and on it the revelation descended upon me.' (Sahih Muslim 1162). Deeds are presented to Allah every Monday.

Fasting Thursday alongside Monday completes the prophetic weekly rhythm. The Prophet ﷺ said: 'Deeds are shown to Allah on Mondays and Thursdays, and I love that my deeds be shown while I am fasting.' (Tirmidhi 747).

The White Days — the 13th, 14th, and 15th of every lunar Hijri month when the full moon illuminates the sky. The Prophet ﷺ instructed Abu Dharr (RA): 'If you fast three days of the month, then fast the thirteenth, fourteenth, and fifteenth.' (Nasa'i 2432).

For Muslims not performing Hajj. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Fasting on the Day of Arafah expiates the sins of the previous year and the coming year.' (Sahih Muslim 1162).

Commemorates Allah saving Prophet Musa (AS) and the Children of Israel from Pharaoh. The Prophet ﷺ said: 'Fasting the day of Ashura expiates the sins of the previous year.' (Sahih Muslim 1162).

Recommended to combine with Ashura. The Prophet ﷺ said: 'If I live until next year, I will certainly fast the ninth [alongside the tenth].' (Sahih Muslim 1134).

Observed anytime during Shawwal after Eid al-Fitr (from 2nd Shawwal onwards). The Prophet ﷺ said: 'Whoever fasts Ramadan and follows it with six days of Shawwal, it is as if he fasted the entire lifetime.' (Sahih Muslim 1164).

Aisha (RA) narrated: 'I never saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ fast a complete month except Ramadan, and I never saw him fast more in any month than in Sha'ban.' (Sahih al-Bukhari 1970).

The Prophet ﷺ said: 'There are no days in which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these ten days.' (Sahih al-Bukhari 969). Fast what you can during the first 9 days.

Fasting on alternate days (one day on, one day off). The Prophet ﷺ said: 'The most beloved fast to Allah is the fast of Dawud; he used to fast every other day.' (Sahih al-Bukhari 3420). Recommended only for those with strong physical stamina.
