Do I need an account to use EasyIslam?+
No. Prayer times, Qibla direction, Quran reading, Hadith, Duas, and the Islamic calendar all work without creating an account. An account is only needed to sync bookmarks and prayer logs across devices.
Is EasyIslam free?+
Yes, completely free. There are no subscriptions, no premium tiers, and no in-app purchases. All features are available to everyone.
Can I use EasyIslam offline?+
Yes. Install the app by tapping 'Add to Home Screen' in your browser (PWA). Prayer times, Qibla, Quran text, and core duas will work without an internet connection once installed.
How do I install the app on my phone?+
Open EasyIslam in your mobile browser. On iOS: tap the Share button then 'Add to Home Screen'. On Android: tap the menu (โฎ) then 'Add to Home Screen' or 'Install App'.

Why do my prayer times seem wrong?+
Prayer times depend on your location and calculation method. Go to Settings and verify your location coordinates and calculation method match your local mosque or Islamic authority.
Which calculation method should I use?+
Use the method followed by the Islamic authority in your country: UK/Europe โ Moonsighting Committee. USA/Canada โ ISNA. Saudi Arabia โ Umm Al-Qura. Egypt โ Egyptian. Pakistan/India/Bangladesh โ Karachi. Turkey โ Diyanet.
What is Hanafi Asr?+
The Hanafi school calculates Asr time when the shadow of an object equals twice its length plus the shadow at noon (Standard uses once its length). If you follow the Hanafi madhab, select 'Hanafi' in Settings โ Asr calculation.
How do I enable Adhan notifications?+
On the Prayer Times page, tap the 'Adhan OFF' button. Your browser will ask permission for notifications. Once granted, a tone and notification will appear at each prayer time.

Can I listen to Quran recitation?+
Yes. Open any Surah and press the play button. You can choose from four reciters: Mishary Al-Afasy, Abdurrahmaan As-Sudais, Abdullah Basfar, and Mahmood Al-Husary. Adjust speed and enable repeat modes.
How does Tajweed coloring work?+
On any Surah page, click 'Tajweed' in the display options. Letters are colored by rule: Red = Shiddah (letters with Shadda), Green = Ghunnah (Tanwin and Noon/Meem Mushaddad), Blue = Madd (elongation letters), Purple = Qalqalah letters (ู ุท ุจ ุฌ ุฏ) with Sukun.
How do I track my memorisation (Hifz)?+
Go to Quran โ Revision Tracker. You can mark each of the 30 Juz as Memorised, Reviewing, Needs Work, or Not Started. Your progress is saved automatically.
How do I bookmark an ayah?+
On any Surah page, tap the bookmark icon (โ ) next to any ayah number. Bookmarks are saved locally and synced to your account if you are signed in.

I forgot my password. How do I reset it?+
Go to the Login page and click 'Forgot password'. Enter your email address and you will receive a reset link. The link expires after 1 hour.
How do I verify my email address?+
Go to your Profile page. Next to your email address you'll see a 'Verify email' button. Click it to receive a verification email. Click the link in the email within 24 hours.
How do I delete my account?+
Go to Profile โ scroll to the bottom โ 'Delete account'. Type DELETE in the confirmation box and confirm. All your data is permanently removed immediately.
How do I change my display name?+
Go to your Profile page and click the 'Edit' button next to your name. Enter a new name and save.
๐ Privacy
Does EasyIslam track my location?+
Your precise location is only used locally in your browser to calculate prayer times and Qibla. It is never sent to our servers or stored in your account. You can also enter coordinates manually in Settings.
Does EasyIslam show ads?+
No. There are no advertisements on EasyIslam. We do not use ad networks or share your data with advertisers.
Is my journal private?+
Yes. Journal entries are stored only on your device using your browser's localStorage. They are never uploaded to our servers, even if you are signed in.
What data does EasyIslam collect?+
We collect only what is needed for your account: email address and password hash. Prayer logs and Quran bookmarks are optionally synced if you sign in. We do not collect behavioural data, location history, or reading habits for any purpose other than displaying them back to you.

What is the Zakat calculator?+
Go to /zakat to calculate your annual Zakat obligation. Enter your gold, silver, cash, investments, business stock, debts, and money owed to you. The calculator compares your net wealth to the Nisab threshold and shows your exact 2.5% obligation.
How does the Halal Food Checker work?+
Go to /halal and search any product. We check the ingredient list from the Open Food Facts database for haram substances (pork, alcohol, gelatin, etc.) and provide a verdict. Always verify with official certification for certainty.
What is the Aalim Online section?+
Aalim Online (/courses) is a structured Islamic education platform with 5 courses: Foundations of Islam, Tajweed, Arabic for Beginners, Hadith Sciences, and Fiqh of Ibadah. Each course has lessons, quizzes, and a downloadable certificate.
